Botox®, Dysport® and Nuceiva® are all botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators that temporarily relax targeted muscles to soften expression lines. They have different formulations, dosing units and characteristics such as onset and diffusion. There is not one product that is best for everyone. At Face Equation, we consider your facial anatomy, muscle movement, treatment area and desired result when determining which product is appropriate for you.

Botox and dermal filler work in completely different ways. Neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport and Nuceiva temporarily relax muscles that create expression lines. Dermal fillers are injectable gels, most commonly made with hyaluronic acid, that can restore volume, enhance contours and add structure to areas such as the lips, cheeks or chin. Depending on your goals, one treatment or a combination of treatments may be appropriate.

Botox®, Dysport® and Nuceiva® typically last around 3–4 months, although the duration can vary from person to person. Factors such as your metabolism, muscle strength, treatment area and the amount used can all affect how long your results last.
Occasionally, a person may develop reduced sensitivity or resistance to a particular neuromodulator, meaning it may not work as well or may not last as long as it once did. If this happens, another product such as Dysport or Nuceiva may produce a better response.
Finding the product that works best for you can sometimes involve a little trial and error. At Face Equation, we work with you to determine which neuromodulator gives you the best response and the most natural, balanced results.

Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to improve skin quality rather than add significant volume or change the shape of your face. Depending on the product used, they can improve hydration, smoothness, texture and overall skin radiance, often by stimulating your own collagen to do the work. They are particularly useful when the goal is healthier-looking, more hydrated skin rather than traditional facial contouring.

The longevity of filler depends on the product, treatment area, amount used and your individual metabolism. Some areas can maintain results for 6-9 months, while other areas may last longer, even up to 2 years. During your consultation, we can explain what to expect based on the specific filler and treatment area being considered.

Yes. Our goal is to enhance your features while maintaining your natural expressions and facial balance. Treatment is customized to your anatomy and the result you want. We believe injectable treatments should complement your face rather than change who you are. We will however, turn away people who are looking for an un-natural dramatic look.

Neuromodulator results develop gradually rather than appearing immediately. You may begin noticing changes within several days, with the final effect generally assessed around two weeks. Filler results are often visible immediately, although swelling can temporarily affect the appearance and the final result may take time to settle.

We are a no frills company that has been in business for 10+ years that rents a room from a wellness center, so we have very little overhead. Plus we buy in large quantities from our Botox/Dysport/Nuceiva suppliers so we pass the savings on to you. This is how we are able use the same product, from the same companies and use the same dilution as the cosmetic surgeons charging $16/unit.

Most patients return to their normal activities shortly after treatment. You may experience temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites. Your injector will provide specific aftercare instructions based on the treatment you receive.
