BOTOX, DYSPORT &

PRE & POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Please review these instructions before and after your Botox® treatment. Following these guidelines can help minimize bruising, swelling and irritation and support optimal results.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT

3 DAYS BEFORE

Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), retinol, retinoids, glycolic acid, alpha hydroxy acids and other active anti-aging products on the treatment area.

Also avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing or hair-removal creams on the area to be treated.

7 DAYS BEFORE

Avoid medications and supplements that may increase bruising unless they have been prescribed to you or your healthcare provider has instructed you to continue them. These may include aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin/Advil), naproxen (Aleve), vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, garlic supplements, St. John’s Wort and omega-3 supplements.

Avoid alcoholic beverages for 24 hours before and after treatment to help minimize bruising.

If you have a history of cold sores, inform your provider before treatment so they can determine whether antiviral medication is appropriate.

IMPORTANT

Inform your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an allergy to any of the ingredients in Botox®, or have a neurological or neuromuscular condition. Your provider will determine whether Botox® is appropriate for you.

Wait a minimum of 48 hours—and ideally 14 days—before undergoing invasive skincare or laser treatments, unless otherwise directed by your provider.
